Let’s all take a moment to thank the person that came up with the concept of “brunch” - combining the best meal of the day with a lie in and an acceptable reason to drink before noon.

From the traditional Full English to syrup-soaked fried chicken, these local boltholes are the best spots in Leeds to get your fill of the most instagrammable meal of the day.

Laynes Espresso

Serving brunch until early afternoon, Laynes Espresso combines the authentic brunch menu with a sprinkling of the exotic, including a North African favourite called Shakshuka and even fried duck eggs. This menu is all about exploring new tastes and cultures, from wild mushrooms and spinach to Jerusalem artichoke and walnut oli servied on brioche.

Manahatta

With two restaurants in Leeds, Manhatta has nailed brunch from either side of the city and it’s available every day until 4pm. On weekends they sweeten the deal with bottomless brunch, where you can choose from a range of mouth-wateringly good food options, including a giant buttermilk banoffee pancake, eggs royale or Taiwanese mushroom hirata buns. Wash it down with your choice of unlimited prosecco, bloody Marys, pints of Coors or even the drink of the moment, Aperol Spritz, all for just £25.95.
