Celebrating its 21styear in 2018, the nationally acclaimed Manchester Food and Drink Festival is returning to the city, taking place over the city between 27thSeptember – 8thOctober.

The event showcases that there is more to Manchester than meat pies and gravy, taking place in venues across the city. This year the Festival will be bringing everything, and everyone, together at the marvellous and revamped Festival Hub on Albert Square, where a huge ‘food and drink village’ is specially built

Over the course of the event there is an exquisite programme of events and happenings all over Manchester featuring collaborations with a huge breadth of the city’s most talented foodies.

At the centre of the celebrations this year will be the new Dining Dome in the front of the town hall, which will see a series of special banquets taking place over the course of the festival. The giant igloo will host events including an Ayurvedic supper club with wellness guru Jasmine Hemsley and Levenshulme café Trove; a futuristic feast from Rabbit in the Moon and two Battle Royale-themed dystopian dinners from Cottonopolis.

You can also enjoy live music at the CityLife’s stage, back this year bigger and better than ever with a line-up of musicians and DJs to set the soundtrack to the 11day event. There will be a wide selection of street food stalls in the square as well as pop-up operations from some of the region’s most exciting restaurants, including Bundobust.

Gin lovers – head down to Upper Campfield Market, a former Victorian market hall for the Gin Festival. Book on to one of the four sessions which will be running across the three days to enjoy gin sampling, take away a commemorative glass and take part in a masterclass and workshops. Visitors to the event will be armed with a tasting glass, so you can taste your way around all of the gins on offer direct from some of the best gin brands in the world.
