Who doesn’t enjoy laughing until their face aches? The Liverpool Comedy Festival has been bringing comedy to Liverpool for the past 17 years and this year promises to be better than ever. The 2018 festival will be complete with famous names, up and coming local talent as well as health and humour workshops to make everyone cry with laughter.
Liverpool is home to famous comedic talents, from the likes of Sir Ken Dodd to John Bishop and continues to produce a culture of comedy. The laughter and entertainment will take place over 2 weeks from the 14th to the 30th of September in more than 20 venues across the city. Shows will be hosted from the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, where global artists have taken to the stage for years, the Jacaranda, home to open mics, and HUS, a new urban venue in the business quarter.
Over 100 shows and workshops will be popping up throughout the fortnight and whether it’s stand up, improv, sketch, story-telling, theatre or family friendly shows that get you giggling, we can guarantee there’ll be something you’ll enjoy!
Founded and managed by Liverpool charity The Comedy Trust, the comedy festival supports their mission to create happier, healthier people through the use of laughter, humour and comedy. So, while you’ll be creasing with laughter you’ll also be supporting a charity focused on supporting the community and tackling mental health. If that doesn’t make you go home feeling pretty good about yourself, we don’t know what will!
While the line-up is yet to be announced, we can’t wait to see the amazing acts and enjoy two weeks of comedy gold!
