Edgbaston’s newest Artisan Market: Loudon’s Yard host their first Neighbourhood Market

23 / 04 / 2026

Last month, we introduced something new to the Edgbaston calendar.

Loudon’s Yard’s neighbourhood artisan market, open to residents and the wider city. The first event of the year took place in March and will be regular feature hosted each quarter throughout 2026.

Considering Birmingham already does artisan markets so well, this one was all about celebrating local independents and opening the space up to the community.

Just a short walk away, the established artisan market in Edgbaston Village, delivered by Calthorpe Estate, has become a fixture. Known for its strong community feel, it reflects the role thoughtful placemaking plays in shaping a neighbourhood. Our addition at Loudon’s Yard builds on that energy, offering a new setting, a fresh mix of traders, and another reason in the local calendar to come together.

A community event in the heart of leafy Edgbaston
Set within the Loudon’s Yard development off Hagley Road, the market brought together residents, Edgbaston locals and visitors from across the city. During their visit, guests got to enjoy the building and all it has to offer, including a lounge, games area, private dining room and landscaped courtyard for dining al fresco!

From relaxed Sunday browsing to social catch ups, the event captured what makes a great community market in Birmingham with a strong sense of place. Loudon’s Yard was designed with these moments in mind: shared spaces that encourage interaction, support local culture, and create a true neighbourhood feel.

A considered line-up of independents
In collaboration with Birmingham Artisan Markets, the first Loudon’s Yard artisan market brought together a curated mix of independent businesses and local makers.

Visitors explored a range of unique, high-quality products from Birmingham-based brands, including:

  • Pip’s Hot Sauce – small-batch sauces packed with flavour
  • Vida Jewellery – handcrafted, contemporary jewellery
  • Kneals Chocolates – artisan chocolates
  • Root 13 – house plants galore
  • Scratch Bakery – fresh, handcrafted bakes
  • Rowan Silversmiths – bespoke silver pieces
  • All Around Record Store – vinyl for music lovers

Events like this highlight the best of independent businesses in Birmingham, while creating a vibrant neighbourhood experience.

More artisan markets coming soon to Loudon’s Yard
Following the success of the first event, the artisan market at Loudon’s Yard will continue to evolve as part of Edgbaston’s wider market offering.

Working alongside Birmingham Artisan Markets, and complementing the established Edgbaston Village market, the focus remains on offering a new experience for locals to enjoy and give Moda residents a reason to stay “home”.
